June - August 2022
I was a Software Engineering Intern at Sierra Nevada Corporation.
Degraded Visual Environments
I worked on helicopter terrain navigation in GPS-denied environments. I created a Monte Carlo testing suite for analyzing terrain navigation performance. The testing tool measured the performance of flight data on a large digital terrain elevation dataset. It reduced days of manual testing into a single nightly test. This helped the team prepare for an upcoming flight test. A recent news article about the system is published here.
Internal Research & Development
I stood up demos of human pose detection, object detection, and 3D scene reconstruction on an edge computing device. I also implemented an image stitching algorithm using a seam-finding approach between 4 transformed infrared camera views. My seam carving and image stitching projects helped jumpstart our progress.
